Namitha’s fan club President has said that Namitha did not support this kind of activities or did not support financially and told them to donate the money to a charity, but the fans wanted to show their love and hence the temple in her name.
The surprised and thrilled Namitha says that every time, she went back home to Surat, she used to tell her family members in jest that soon there would be a temple in her name. And now, it has actually come true.

She splashed into the choppy waters of Kollywood with her oomph. Slowly but surely, the Gujarati girl from Surat carved a niche for herself in Tamil cinema. Now Namitha is awaiting the release of Jaganmohini, a bilingual film in Tamil and Telugu.
"I play a girl who gathers pearls and falls in love with the prince," said Namitha. "But his family does not accept her and she is killed. Later she comes back as a ghost to stop his marriage to another princess".
The actress is not signing any new films because she wants to gauge audience response to Jaganmohini.
